The Rehab Admission Coordinator (RAC) is a specialty clinical position used exclusively in Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation Facilities (IRF), which are governed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS). The RAC reports to the Director of Rehabilitation Services for assigned facilities IRFs. * Assesses referrals for appropriateness for admission to inpatient rehabilitation unit. * Obtains insurance authorizations to facilitate rehabilitation unit admissions. * Works with acute care case managers to assess patients for admission and arrange for admission to inpatient rehabilitation unit. * Communicates with patient and families regarding inpatient rehabilitation unit admissions. * Complete preadmission paperwork and communicates with rehabilitation unit regarding admissions.What You Bring/Job Requirements:In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following: 2 years experience in rehabilitation or other post-acute environment.Associates Degree in Nursing (ASN), or Bachelors Degree in Physical Therapy, or Bachelors Degree in Occupational Therapy, or Masters Degree in Speech Therapy with Certificate of Clinical CompetenceBachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN), preferredMasters/Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy, preferred.
