Twin Cities Community Hospital

Twin Cities Community Hospital, a 122-bed acute care hospital, has been caring for the communities of Northern San Luis Obispo County since 1977. With a medical staff of more than 200 physicians and 400 caregivers and support staff, the hospital specializes in emergency care, obstetrics, orthopedics, digestive disorders, wound care and a broad array of medical, surgical and outpatient services. Twin Cities Community Hospital earned The Joint Commission�s Gold Seal of Approval® with distinction for its knee replacement program and was the first hospital in San Luis Obispo County to earn the LGBTQ Healthcare Equality �Leader� designation from the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. Job Summary:

Under general supervision is responsible for providing speech, language, and dysphagia services to patients to include evaluations, planning individual patient care programs, treatments, and home programs.

Qualifications - External

EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelors or Masterâ��s Degree in Speech Pathology or Communicative Disorders, required.
• Minimum 1 year experience

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:

• Current California license as a Speech Language Pathologist required
• Current BLS from the American Heart Association required

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:

Knowledgeable of the principles and practices of communicative disorders including dysphagia, and other disciplines. Ability to evaluate, plan and implement therapy including dysphagia rehabilitation program for individual patients. Ability to explain, demonstrate and teach speech and swallowing rehabilitative measures. Ability to supervise support personnel. Ability to work effectively with others in an inter-disciplinary team relationship. Ability to be self-directing and to seek direction and consultation as needed. Ability to express oneself clearly, verbally and in writing. Experience with ventilator dependent patients and Modified Barium Swallow studies desirable. Demonstrates competence within the scope of practice including age and condition appropriate considerations. Demonstrates personal and professional integrity and interest in growth and learning. Pay Range: $40.89 - $63.37
Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an employee�s qualifications and experience.
