Assistant Clinical Professor, Audiology Clinic (Non-Tenure Track), San Francisco
Primary Purpose and Essential Functions: The School of Health Sciences at the University of Pacific invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track position as an Assistant Clinic Professor of Audiology at the San Francisco campus.
Perform audiology tests, determining the need for hearing aids or assistive hearing technologies
Perform hearing tests, pick suitable amplification, orders product, programs and fits best digital hearing aids
Establish relationship with and collect history from patients, conduct audiometric testing, ABR and ENG/VNG and make advice for hearing aids
Plan and establish rehabilitation programs into practice
Formulate ear impressions and ear molds, order instruments
Fit hearing aids and help with any adjustments, questions or problems to patients of all ages
Counsel hearing impaired adults and relatives of hearing impaired children
Supervise workers and directs all kinds of operation of Hearing Center
Take part in Hearing Aid Dispenser duties
Performs ending measures for appropriate verification
Maintains client computer files
Offer a high level of member service
Manage audiometric tests
Diagnose and assess degree of hearing impairment
Provide and ensure timely and polite member service
Carry out off-site marketing to boost sales
Program hearing aids by means of a computer
Maintain documents and patient files
Work with Au.D. students as a preceptor
Teach Courses within the AuD program as assigned by Department Chair
Assist with the Director of Clinical Education with 1st year student education coordination
Assist with Marketing efforts including travel for presentations, and outreach activities

Minimum Qualifications: • Au.D. or Ph.D. degree in Audiology • Minimum of 5 years of clinic services • Hold (or eligible for) a California Dispensing Audiology License • Certified in Audiology (CCC-A) by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association • Valid driver’s license required. Incumbent must be able to meet the University’s fleet rules and be eligible to drive for University business. The University’s insurance carrier reserves the right to exclude applicants based on their driving record.
Preferred Qualifications: •Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computer office software including word-processing, spreadsheet applications and mail merge functions. PowerPoint or similar programs highly desired. •Excellent verbal and written communications skills; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and patients. •Excellent phone & customer service skills, office organization, and event/meeting scheduling and records management skills. • Previous supervision of audiology students desired. • Tinnitus management/counseling experience desired. • Familiarity with basic budget and bookkeeping procedures. •Familiarity of insurance billing procedures and patient management system software. •An interest in or knowledge of hearing health care terminology, patient demographics, and skills is desired. •Positive attitude, proven ability to work successfully with diverse populations and demonstrated commitment to promote and enhance diversity and inclusion
Physical Requirements: Work is primarily performed in a standard office environment during standard business hours. •Requires extended periods of sitting and repetitive hand/wrist motion while using computer keyboard and phone. •Occasional standing, walking across campus, climbing stairs, bending, stooping and reaching. •Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
